Responsibilities

• Provide Mine Operations with accurate field control based off engineered surveys.
• Maintain accurate as-built models of active pit & dump areas.
• Assist with month end survey reconciliation work and maintain accurate month end records.
• Assist Ore Control personnel as required.
• Assist Drill and Blast crew with drill hole staking and drill pattern preparation.
• Complete drill and blast designs/layouts and tie-ins.
• Knowledge and experience using a total station and GPS and surveying software.
• Conduct aerial drone surveys of the mine site.
• Prepare and contribute to technical memos short range reports (i.e. daily/weekly), within areas of expertise.
• Self-reliant and easily adaptable to change.
• Creative and innovative in providing solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make quality decisions.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Mine Technician Diploma program or a Degree Program with relevant fields from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Minimum 1 years of experience in open pit or underground mining projects.
• Experience with mine planning software, preferably MineSight.
• Solid familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS and proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner.
• Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
• Able to travel across Canada and internationally.

Education

• Completion of a Mine Technician Diploma program or a Degree Program with relevant fields from a recognized post-secondary institution.
