Responsibilities
- Provide Owner's Project Manager and Design Manager/Coordinating Professional leadership, for a variety of project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, Construction Management at Risk, Leaseback, Integrated Project Delivery, etc.);
- Procure, negotiate and manage contracts with clients, contractors and consultants;
- Prepare and execute Project Management Plans including Work Plans, Risk Management Plans, Safety Plans, Quality Plans, and Communications Plans, taking corrective actions as required to keep the project on track;
- Control and monitor the progress of projects with respect to scope, schedule, budget, quality, etc. and implement change as appropriate;
- Prepare Minutes and Status Reports for clients, project partners, and/or oversight committees, as appropriate to the project;
- Write proposals and statement of qualification documents that clearly communicate WSP's leadership in the Project Management sector;
- Manages authority having jurisdiction permitting and approval process;
- Manage diverse stakeholder groups; and
- Other duties as assigned/required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years experience in design and construction management of projects, preference is given to those with experience in the mining
sector;
- Project Management Professional certification will be preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including persuasion and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes;
- Physical and emotional ability to perform the job;
- A demonstrated ability to manage, direct, and motivate multi-disciplined teams to deliver fast paced complex assignments;
- Experience with the planning and delivery of alternative project delivery methods such as Design-Build, Construction Management, and Private-Public-Partnerships would be an asset;
- Experience and proficiency with formalized schedule, cost, BIM and document control processes and software;
- A desire and passion for shared team success;
- A proven track record of completing projects on time and on budget with a high degree of client satisfaction;
- Must have a valid BC Driver's License;
Nice-to-Haves
- Registered or eligible for registration as an Architect, Architectural Technologist, AScT or Professional Engineer in BC would be an asset
Education
- University degree in a related discipline would be an asset
